It often feels like pantomimes are impossible to make more sustainable. They are frequently a theatre’s biggest show of the year, with audience expectations of large-scale, high production values, glitter, merchandise, and frequent costume changes. Pantomimes also often have a large number of scheduled performances, and a pressure to sell as many tickets, drinks and merchandise as possible.
However, pantomimes hold a lot of potential for theatres and freelance creatives to think and work sustainably. We have worked closely with Theatre Green Book to produce an online resource to help you think about how you can make your pantomimes more sustainable.
